There are angels among us

Mom collected angels. She had them all over the house. Some were given as gifts, some were purchased. I think it all began when her mom died. There was truly at least one angel among us when my grandmother died. However, I've seen and even talked to many angels through out life. Just as Hebrews 13:2 states- that many "have entertained angels, unaware." It's so true. The night my grandmother died was a Sunday night in the middle of church. She was soundly sleeping and had the death rattle. Suddenly she awoke and said "what?' "WHAT?" at that moment I said what do you need. Her reply was "Someone called my name." There were three people in the room at that time. My grandmother, my mom and me. My mom and I had silently been watching over her by her bedside and neither of us had made a sound. Our sweet friend Janice, had brought little angel pins for everyone to wear earlier. Tiny little angels worn close to our heart while we watched the family matriarch decline.

When our "Debbie" (our grandma name for our precious grandmother.) awoke and said someone had called her name, I knew immediately to what she was referring and told her that she had better answer them. Now, the results that follow you will find amazing as they are extremely difficult to believe if you weren't present at the moment. But minutes later she was gone....slipped away silently and peacefully a sleep in Jesus. At that very minute there was a huge thunderstorm and lightning hit to corner of the church building we attend which is across town. My husband was at church when it happened. The church is an extremely tall A Frame with lightning rods on the peak of the roof. At the strike of the lightning, the power went out and a piece of concrete from the corner stone of the building was hurled into the parking lot. I seriously kid you not that this is a true story. I still have this piece of concrete and had just found it in the closet a few days ago. This I will keep forever as a reminder and hand it down to my kids and grandchildren along with the amazing story of Debbie's death. Asleep in Jesus, where angels guard and attend thee.

As I mentioned above, there have been numerous occasions where I've encountered angels. Not all of them deal with dying. One day we were involved in a head on collision. Hit right in front of our own house while driving home. Almost made it. We were in a camaro with both kids in the back who hit their heads on the back of our seats. The EMT arrived and were requesting that we send both kids in the ambulance to the ER to be checked out. I had told them no that was not necessary, when from behind a lady touch my elbow and turned me around to face her. I have no idea what she looked like now and could not remember a description of her then after she left. She said, "YOU take them, you take them anyway. They may seem fine now, but could have damage show up later." By this time a crowd had gathered and she was just a lady I didn't know standing there among the crowd. After telling the EMT that we would take them in ourselves in our van; I turned back around to thank the lady and she was gone. No where to be found. Since many people were standing there, I asked the crowd, "where did that lady go?" Several people replied what lady? To which I said, the one that was just talking to me. She was standing right here beside me. The people in the crowd said, no... we saw no lady talking to you. There was no one there. We are all over here. No one touched you. To this day... the only explanation I can think of for this mysterious disappearing lady, is an angel. Sent to protect my children and give me peace.

Through out the life of our extended family we could give numerous accounts of the possibilities of having angels with us. Guarding, guiding and protecting us. This is exactly the prayer my father and grandfather always said. Those exact words. Guard, guide and protect us. Maybe those words were common for prayers in the church in those days, I don't know since I was a kid. But those prayers have certainly been proven effective for our entire extended family, and now we have as we feel, our parent's and grandparents there to watch over us.

When we would go to work at moms house after she died, trying to get prepared for an estate sale, There would be one little music box with doves that would begin playing every time I walked near it. Until finally, I told those little white doves, "ok! I'll take you home!" When I got them home, they just didn't seem to have a need to play anymore. . But on Valentines day, a cousin of mom's came to visit. To be honest, I never even knew this man existed until after her death. Not only had I never met him, but neither had she. Since it was Valentines day, I set the doves on the table for a valentines decoration. Valentines cookie, cupcakes, candies and punch were ready for these family members none of us had ever met. Yet, when they came through the front door, they just felt like family. Like we had known them always.

And those doves.....all this time after coming home with me had been silent. Come time for the cousin to leave, we said our goodbyes and as I turned from closing the front door, hear came the sound of the doves playing from the dinning room. As I went to the doves, there they turned on their music box pedestal. And that's the last I've heard them play.

Now I don't really believe that was an angel among us at that time. But I mean, if you had experienced all this with music boxes playing on their own after you mom had passed......what would you think? Af first it was cool, sweet, erie, and then it became where it felt like a means of communication with her. They were consistent each time i went to her house. There was never a time they didn't play. Did I wind the music box? No. Did I wind the music box after I brought it home? No. .I don't feel this is or was an angel, but you can reply to me at the contact us form. Seriously, how would all that make you feel. What are your thoughts on that?
